The term brownfields is used to describe old, contaminated industrial sites destined for remediation and reuse. There have been many cases where state and federal regulatory agencies have worked closely with the site owners and consultants to clean these sites and re-use them. In many instances, a former industrial complex has been "recycled" into an office park or apartment complex.

Many states now have grants that can be applied to brownfields sites, reducing the end cost to the owner. Mulry and Cresswell Environmental, Inc. is well versed in brownfield restoration and land recycling.
